This is a very specific person we are looking for, must be Food and Beverage.
Further to this, a huge bonus would be if the candidate had managed a P&L internally and had a stint in trade marketing or trade finance so they also understand the financial implications, managed a trade budget, understood allocation rules, worked cross functionally with consumer marketing / sales and leadership.

REPORTS TO: Grocery Director
SUMMARY:
- Coordinates the merchandising of various categories of the Grocery Department.
- This includes sales, income, incentives, cost, retails, pricing, SKU rationalization, and new items.
- Also works with the Grocery Director to maintain run rates, gross profit percent and income, same store sales, fiscal business reviews, in-store execution programs, direct store delivery programs, and special company programs, including: Trip, Golf Outing, Race for the Cure, Calendar Program, Los Rancheros, and two Food Shows.
- Also works on new contract renewals and negotiations as well.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for negotiating with vendors/brokers on a weekly basis for the best costs and deals for promotions for weekly ads. Also negotiates new items and items to be discontinued through SKU rationalization. The categories include: paper, tabletop, mayo, cereal, candy, canned seafood, foils/wraps, laundry care, soup, spices, soda/water (warehouse), and sanitary napkins.
- Responsible for developing accrual programs, direct store shipment programs, category reviews, fiscal planning, and seasonal programs for the categories.
- Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the owners/members of the co-op. This includes bi-weekly sales meetings and quarterly gross profit meetings and results presentations.
- Work with the appropriate departments and the vendors/brokers to develop the new private label program. This includes new packaging, old packaging depletion, costs, retails, merchandising programs, and category analysis within the categories they are responsible for.
- Helps coordinate department meetings to review open issues (i.e. ads, budget projections, new items). Also is in charge of the department when the director is out.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Manager desires a candidate to possess a progression of CPG responsibility in preferably customer sales (managing a customer relationship – and being responsible for sales, local trade fund budgets, quota attainment, forecasting goals, inventory management, bottom line results, post-promo analysis – and be proficient in a host of Microsoft Office applications / Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

CORE REQUIREMENTS:
- Five to ten years procurement experience.
- Experience in store management a plus
- Computer skills – knowledge of Consolidated file a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior negotiation skills - must be assertive and able to influence others
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Highly creative, accurate, and analytical
- Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities/projects simultaneously
- Able to work well with numbers
