We are seeking a Configuration Management Process Lead to provide technical expertise and leadership towards establishing a configuration management processes for the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate under the ETASS program at Hanscom AFB.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to establish a cohesive configuration management process for the acquisition and sustainment of Air Force network systems under the direction of the Government Program Management Office (PMO).  
  • Work closely with the Government PMO to define and document a CM process for an existing system of networks, programs and projects spanning multiple organizational units and geographic locations.   
  • Provide support and advice on developing a strategy for managing CM throughout the C3I Infrastructure division. 
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and act as an advisor to team members, internal and external clients, vendors, and other IT professionals on matters related to the Configuration Management of the AFLCMC/HNI division. 
  • Provide direct supervision of a team of configuration specialists and analysts. 
  • Monitor the CM performance of programs to ensure department policy and procedures and regulatory requirements are met and that configuration and processing timeliness and accuracy requirements are achieved. 
  • Coordinate project planning, management of project tasks, resource assignment. 
  • Support performance audits, system reviews, documentation, and providing technical assistance and mentoring as directed by the Government PMO.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years experience performing IT systems configuration management and developing technical documentation and business case analyses for creative solutions to engineering problems. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 
  • Must possess strong understanding of Department of Defense and Air Force policies. 
  • Able to work closely with the team members, internal and external clients, vendors and other information technology professionals, requiring the ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical language. 
  • Knowledge of principles, techniques, regulations and requirements for configuration and data management in order to establish, organize and maintain a configuration and data management program. 
  • Skilled in interpreting, explaining, and analyzing technical requirements to perform such functions as configuration identification, change control, status accounting and auditing. 
  • Must have understanding of network and system topology to provide guidance to a team of engineers and to assist in the documentation of networks and subsystems. 
  • The following are preferred technical skills:  familiarity with ITIL best practices; principles of version control and release management; Change Management and Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes; requirements management, preferably with exposure to Rational DOORS; IT Service management tools, preferably with exposure to BMC Remedy; Network Architecture; Topology mapping; Risk Management; familiarity with concepts of Database administration; MS SharePoint administration; effective ability to work with Microsoft office products (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.); and strong written and communications skills – demonstrated ability to work well with others.
