  • Candidates must have excellent writing skills and be able to write in a clear and concise manner. Communicate effectively to drive answers and approvals in both writing and verbally to the various levels within the business units and stakeholders. Communication is key in this role.

Job Description: 
  • Performs research and analysis on regulations, systems and business needs.
  • Candidate is responsible for planning, conducting analysis and creating requirements for changes applicable to Commercial Lending’s loan origination system, loan documents, and interfaces..
  • Position requires expertise in commercial originations or lending origination system configurations, loan documents e.g. a loan closing package, process mapping, business analysis, UML and project management in a Retail, Wholesale mortgage and home equity lending operations. 
Primary Responsibilities: 

50% Take the lead to elicit business requirements, further develop and document business requirements and some functional designs and implementation plans for Commercial Origination System requirements, loan document and packaging requirements, and downstream data requirements. Recommends solutions balancing system, business and regulatory requirements and changes. Ensure design and integration of proposed system solutions meet all business and regulatory requirements. Leads requirement gathering sessions, design efforts and works with business and technology to ensure all requirements are satisfied. Accountable for user sign-off of changes. Monitors implementation and user satisfaction. Other duties as assigned. 

10% Combines research and recommendations with requirements for systems or process changes. Organizes, conducts and facilitates cross-functional team meetings. Consults with users and vendors to develop detailed analysis of user requirements (business specification, workflow, reporting requirements) ensuring no negative downstream impacts with proposed solutions. Works with business leaders, legal, compliance and technology and act as a liaison between Business Units within Commercial Lending and IT teams. 

20% Work with vendors, project team members and Business Technology to understand system functionality, dependencies and constraints to refine requirements, propose approaches\solutions for delivery options and timelines. Concisely translate and convey the functional\configuration features or constraints into business impacts for varying levels stakeholders. 

20% Responsible for developing traceability matrix and business user test cases. Supports the review of test script, and testing triage efforts. Serves as subject matter expert to project teams, working groups and user acceptance testing efforts. 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 - 7 years direct work experience in business analysis roles.
  • Lending/Origination knowledge is strongly recommended.
  • Very strong analytical skills coupled with minimum 3 years’ Business Analysis experience with Loan Origination Software, data analysis and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong presentation skills and process design are encouraged. Must be able to act as a liaison between business users and technical teams. 
  • Strong communication skills are necessary for this position, as they will drive the requirements, analysis, design and delivery across all levels of the business including Executive Management.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving are key skills for this role.
  • Additionally, a positive, ‘can do’ and collaborative attitude are strongly desired to ensure a solid fit with the existing team culture . 
  • Additional skills include expertise in identifying, evaluation and developing cost effective solutions to meet user requirements.
  • Plans and executes user acceptance testing and criteria specification for system and loan origination documents to meet business requirements.
  • Provides consultation and triage to testers and end users in the area of automated systems and expected document outputs. 

  • Minimum 5-7 years direct work experience in Residential or Commercial lending industry, with emphasis in Commercial Loan Origination Systems 
  • Understanding of System configuration experience strongly preferred 
  • 5-7 years as a business analyst or business systems analyst with solid, concise writing skills and attention to details 
  • Experience with Loan Origination Documents, like WKs DocPrep or Expere, Digital Docs, Docutech or LaserPro strongly desired 
  • Position requires expertise in process mapping and business analysis 
  • Strong communication, especially comprehension, skills are necessary for this position, as it will interface with all levels of the business including Executive Management 
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and positive can-do attitude are key skills for this role 
  • Six Sigma certification desired 
  • Strong presentation skills, process design and process improvement experience
