TITLE: Microsoft SCOM Systems Administrator with Active Top Secret Clearance

LOCATION: Quantico, VA

CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret Clearance

  • IAT III certification (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP, or CISSP (or Associate)
  • At least one Certification within the product groups technology scope (e.g. SCSM, SCOM)

  • We are looking for a candidate with solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals and a superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in System Center Operations Manager with experience in managing medium to large environments. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot all aspects of SCOM effectively and understand the product configuration, flow and logging in detail. The candidate should understand fully the base OS and SCOM Management Packs and be able to discuss in detail at least one of the following Management Packs: Active Directory, Exchange, IIS or SQL including configuration, tuning and customization. In addition, experience in other Microsoft Management technologies, including Active Directory services (AD), SMS 2003, System Center Essentials and WSUS is desired. The environment is supported by VMware based technology.
  • Ongoing maintenance & administration of System Center Operations Manager
  • Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility
  • Assistance with execution of projects related to areas of responsibility
  • Document supporting policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibilities
  • Provide 3rd level support to our internal support staff and customers
  • Continue proficiencies on emerging technologies through self-study and internal training
  • Meet all internal certification standards for skill sets identified within your realm of responsibility
  • Available for after hours critical escalations and project work as assigned
  • Oversee the rollout of monitoring software updates.
  • Oversee the rollout of new and updated monitoring scripts
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems associated to monitoring systems
  • Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support associated to monitoring systems. Document, track, and monitor the incident to ensure a timely resolution
  • Manage the installation of new software releases, system upgrades, and patch installs that resolves monitoring related software problems
  • Assists in the installation, maintenance, and general support of monitoring systems
  • Develop and update RTS documentation for assigned OSS applications and systems
  • Routinely review monitoring systems and services to ensure stability and security
  • Assist in interpretation of diagnostic data obtained from monitoring solutions
  • Provide escalation support to Implementation team for standard monitoring implementation
  • Provide implementation support for custom monitoring orders
  • Provide technical consultation to individual contributors and customers in areas of expertise
  • Provide Capacity, Performance and Availability reports for assigned systems
  • Define recommend monitoring standards for fault detection, availability, capacity and performance trending for assigned applications and services
  • Develop and distribute trend reports detailing availability, performance & capacity metrics for assigned applications and services
  • Engineer methods to optimize the availability, capacity, performance and cost of assigned
  • applications and services
  • Analyze, define, develop, test and implement monitoring standards for platforms and applications utilizing relevant scripting languages.
  • Provide analysis and remediation for DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) for all responsible technologies in preparation for annual Commanders Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI).
  • IAT III certification (CISA, GCIH, GCED, CASP, or CISSP (or Associate)
  • Professional series Certification within the product groups technology scope (e.g. SCSM, SCOM)
  • ITIL v3 (desired)
  • At least five years of experience of disaster recovery experience
  • Understanding of Microsoft Management Platforms and roadmaps.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Technology stack.
  • Experience with System Center Operations Manager.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft System Center 2012 components with a strong focus on Service Manager and how it integrates with the other suite components.
  • Service Manager Authoring, in combination with designing and integrating with run books in Orchestrator.
  • Experience in Orchestrator integration packs.
  • Experience in Model / class based architecture in SCSM
  • Extensive PowerShell / Scripting experience
  • Experience with Internet Information Service (IIS) and HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
  • Experience with PKI
