OPEN JOB: SALES ENGINEER CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS ENGINEE with Knowledge of Financial Extranets, Server hardware, market data, low-latency trading infrastructure, and the financial technology landscape

LOCATION: Remote with occasional in-office in either NYC (downtown) or Jersey City
  • The primary office location will be in NY/NJ but some foreign travel may be required
TARGET COMPENSATION: $140,000 - $160,000 + benefits

Customer: Leading Trading Communications (VoIP, UCAAS), Compliance and Network Solution Provider for the Financial Services Industry

POSITION:
  • Our client is seeking a Customer Solutions Engineer to work in a client facing technical pre-sales support role, based in NY/NJ and aimed at providing solutions expertise across North America directly and indirectly.
  • The successful candidate is likely to be currently working in a pre-sales or system engineering role within a financial markets services provider or telecoms and will have a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, organization, enthusiasm, and excellent communications skills.

The role includes:
  • Direct Client activities - delivering presentations, design workshops, responding to RFPs and preparing solutions proposals and bids as well as an on-going life cycle account support.
  • External 3rd party/Partner interaction – working within the eco system in co-operation with 3rd party consultancies and other vendors and service providers. 
  • Bid support – RFI, RFP response preparation and complex solution proposals
  • Indirect support to distribution and regional offices to ensure that product and corporate messaging is accurate and on point.
  • Working with product management, marketing and other internal functions to ensure a quality life cycle support to existing Clients and a constructive input and competitive market feedback aimed at new product and service specification and campaigns.
  • Work with Account Manager to drive closure of business.


CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • We are looking for a candidate with proven track record of presentation skills and customer facing experience, one that will gain the respect of both global clients and colleague and can work under pressure.
  • Requires work experience as a Sales Engineer.
  • Financial Markets Services Provider experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field meeting minimum transcript requirements or equivalent experience.

CERTIFICATIONS:
  • CCNA (CISCO) OR CCNP (CISCO) OR CCVP (CISCO) OR CCDP (CISCO) OR CCIE (CISCO)

TECHNOLOGIES
  • Knowledge of Financial Extranets, Server hardware, market data, low-latency trading infrastructure, and the financial technology landscape
  • Cloud Technologies
  • Knowledge of data center colocation environment
  • Knowledge of Virtualization and Containerization technologies
  • Knowledge of PTP, Boundary Clocks, Grandmasters, and other timing service
  • Knowledge of Routing Protocols such as BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP
  • Knowledge of Carrier Class MPLS Traffic Engineering to support Managed WAN, Financial Extranets, and VPLS network environments
  • SIP Voice Signalling Protocols, and Carrier Ethernet experience
  • Security – including aspects of network security, encryption, authentication, SBC, firewalls

  • To design customised solutions that may range from optimisation of standard product configurations to complex design projects involving integration of 3rd party products.
  • To position hybrid infrastructure opportunities across public, private and hybrid platforms from inception through to handover into delivery
  • To prepare, host and deliver tailored Customer presentations
    • Products, solutions and services – benefits, feature, technical details and designs
    • Technology direction and roadmap
  • To generate responses to RFP questions as part of a bid team that are:
    • Technically accurate, credible and in context
    • Well written, concise and easily understood, with clear, professional graphics
    • Geared to promote the firms strengths
    • Delivered to agreed schedules.
  • To provide a conduit between Clients and Product Management for product enhancements and other requirements
