Primary responsibilities include performing research on various technical accounting matters and formulating conclusions in position papers.
This role will assist in responding to the day-to day inquiries from business units/regions regarding company accounting policies and miscellaneous accounting matters, including revenue recognition, fixed assets, R&D arrangements and lease accounting.
This role will also support the Company’s external reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform technical accounting research and assist in the preparation of technical accounting position papers for significant transactions to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and to facilitate external auditors’ review and concurrence with accounting treatment.
Research and provide technical accounting guidance to the global finance organization in response to accounting inquires on various topics such as: revenue recognition; fixed assets; R&D arrangements; and lease accounting.
Provide clarification to the worldwide finance community on the Company’s finance policy requirements.
Assist in the accounting and documentation related to the Company’s mass tort litigation.
Support certain aspects of the Company’s external reporting processes.
Assist in the accounting, documentation and valuation work related to mergers and acquisition transactions.
Assist in the Company’s implementation of new accounting requirements under U.S. GAAP.
Qualifications
B.S. in Accounting/Finance required.
3-5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting with a large public accounting firm or in the financial reporting department of a large multi-national and publicly traded company.
CPA preferred or working towards.
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (including Excel, Word and Outlook).
