DETAILS:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior EHS Manager to lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our client’s large and complex manufacturing site.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture.
This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Lead and manage a team of EHS professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic EHS initiatives to continuously improve the site's EHS culture and performance.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in critical safety programs, such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety and Fall Protection.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, laws, standards, and company policies.
Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the EHS team.
Incident Management: Facilitate incident investigations with strong root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in EHS processes and practices through data analysis, audits, and feedback.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational decisions and projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management in a large manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of LOTO, Machine Guarding, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment.
Experience with OSHA PSM and ISO 1400, preferred.
