  • Ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in the OR running a robotics program in a surgical environment with high (600+) surgical case load.

HOSPITAL: 53-bed (Seven main ORs and two GI procedure suites) - the first robotic surgery program in the state,
  • State-of-the-art Surgical Program:
  • Robotics Excellence: Three da Vinci XI systems with master surgeons who proctor nationally
  • High Surgical Volume: Over 600 cases per month — the highest in the system
  • Comprehensive Scope: Oversight includes OR, GI, PACU, Pre-op, and Pre-admission Testing Clinic
  • Expert Team: Roughly 100 clinical and support staff led by a collaborative manager structure
  • Specialties: GYN, urogynecology, urology, orthopedics, and general surgery

OVERVIEW:
Join our client’s team as a day shift, full-time, Surgery (OR) Director of Nursing in Albuquerque, NM.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. 
  • The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. 
  • The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement. 
  • The nurse director is a change agent and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians. 
  • Responsible for overall administrative, financial and clinical activities of assigned departments. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's in nursing from an accredited school of nursing is required.
  • Certification in a clinical specialty or nursing administration, preferred.
  • Current RN license or a current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum of five (or 3-5) years’ clinical nursing experience, of which 3 (or 2) years must have been in a management capacity.
