IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategy roles within healthcare.
  • Must have experience with primary and secondary research methods and have experience conducting bottom-up market modeling
  • Must have experience using competitive intelligence tools: please ask candidates about any experience they have using CapIQ, Pitch Book, Alpha Sense 
  • Must have experience developing rapport with senior business leaders and presenting bottom-up market modeling information to senior business leaders

ABOUT THE ROLE:
  • Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer is seeking a Senior Manager – Global Competitive & Market Intelligence (CMI), reporting into the Vice President – head of Global Competitive & Market Intelligence (CMI), to join the team and drive strategic insights that shape business decisions across global markets.
  • This role is pivotal in enabling the firm’s leadership to anticipate market shifts, understand competitive dynamics, and identify growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic BU Engagement: Partner with senior business stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical competitive and market intelligence needs.
  • Problem definition: Translate key business questions into analytical problems that can be answered with combination of internal & external data sources
  • Data analysis: Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis incl. advanced analytics and modeling to identify patterns, trends, and foresight signals from large data sets
  • Insight Generation: Independently come up with key hypothesis and second order insights into the drivers of market trends and competitive performance
  • Cross functional collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Corp. Strategy, Finance, BU strategy & leadership) to integrate insights into strategic decision-making
  • Storytelling & Communication: Craft clear, compelling storylines and deliver insights into BU and corporate leadership to influence strategic priorities.
  • Project Leadership: Develop workplans and execute projects independently, collaborating closely with BU and corporate leadership teams.
  • Process Excellence: Define and implement repeatable, streamlined processes and methodologies for Business Units (BUs) to execute competitive and market intelligence activities effectively.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years with a strong understanding of the business landscape, key data sources, and insight generation required. Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in business, data science or related field, or MBA preferred.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategy roles within healthcare.
  • Familiarity with global healthcare trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong ability to work with big data environments, including data ingestion, transformation, and analysis using advanced tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
