BASE SALARY - $127,000 to $145,000

Join the team as a day shift, full-time, Emergency Services Director of Nursing in Roswell, NM. 
 
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
candidates with experience in:
  • Emergency Department (free-standing is acceptable) nursing leadership.
  • Hospital growth or expansion projects.
  • Change management and operational improvement.
  • Team leadership in busy community hospital EDs.
  • Maintaining quality and patient flow in a high-volume, non-trauma emergency department.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT PROFILE:
  • Smaller but high-volume emergency department.
  • Approximately 15,000 patient visits annually.
  • Serves as the one of the primary emergency care hubs for the Roswell community, handling a significant portion of the area's emergency traffic.
  • Not a designated trauma center but manages a high volume of urgent care and emergency cases.
Current Capacity
  • 3 emergency treatment beds
  • 5 overflow treatment spaces
Growth & Expansion Opportunity
  • Major ED expansion project started at the middle of this year.
  • Expansion will increase capacity from 3 treatment rooms to 9 rooms.
  • The Director of Nursing will play a key leadership role in planning, implementing, and managing this expansion.      

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The nurse director is a professional registered nurse with twenty-four-hour responsibility for assigned departments within established standards to achieve the mission and vision of the organization. 
  • The nursing director is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit/departments and executes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
  • The nurse director provides leadership and mentorship in the development of leaders and staff. 
  • The nurse director is responsible for monitoring and evaluating quality, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction outcomes to implement strategies for improvement.
  • The nurse director is a change agent and will establish strong collaborative relationships with physicians.
  • Responsible for overall administrative, financial, and clinical activities of assigned departments.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. If applicant does not have a BSN – must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion.
  • Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare
  • Master’s degree in nursing and/or related field
  • Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration
