SUMMARY:
Our customer develops cloud-based software and processes to help the theater and arts industry cultivate their audiences, drive more revenue and be more efficient. 
 
  • Looking for a VP Sales & Marketing to help grow the North America client base and own our key client relationships. Originally a British company, we’ve grown organically in the US for the past four years. Our customer has ambitious sales targets for 2019 and beyond and have recently secured external investment to support our growth plans. Your role will be to help the company deliver against its business plan by streamlining the sales and contracting process, inspiring a highly-motivated team of 6 to achieve more than they think is possible and acting as a senior voice with clients and prospects to help unblock any challenges the team encounters.
     
SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
  • Execute growth plan for North American client acquisition
  • Lead all business development opportunities
  • Manage the sales & marketing teams
  • Contribute to raising the profile of the organization across the North American market
 
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
  • Set a strategic vision for growth. Establish a growth plan for the North American business in collaboration with the President, North America, to establish revenue targets supported by a structured sales approach for the short-term and mid-term.
  • Deliver on new business targets. Lead the sales and account management teams in executing against the plan, leveraging knowledge of the local market and competitive landscape to inform and drive business development priorities. Support Account Executives on all opportunities, including proposals, pitches and demos, developing relationships with prospects and overseeing a long term pipeline of mid-large size organizations
  • Reporting & pipeline management. Maintain an up-to-date forecast of potential revenue, as well as internal sales performance analyses, such as cost per acquisition. Set pipeline targets, develop awareness and initial contact plans, ensure constant flow of client possibilities to the sales team.
  • Team leadership and management. Manage the sales & marketing teams day to day, working with them on strategy for specific deals, taking responsibility for their workload management and career development. Define and manage processes and ways of working, establish measures of success, tools, sales infrastructure. Recruit, develop, manage and retain top talent, and embed the company culture consistently across the operation. Collaborate with the UK team, sharing best practices and collateral as appropriate.
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Have a track record of strong account/client acquisition growth. Through your understanding of the industry, you will be able to demonstrate experience developing a strategic plan which details the market landscape, opportunities, strategies, actions, metrics, resources required, timelines, etc. You will also be able to show success in executing on such plans.
  • Be a natural and inspirational people-leader with a track record of getting, growing and keeping great talent and shaping them into a driven, high-performance team.
  • You’ll be level headed, have sound judgment and the ability to make balanced decisions, knowing when to take risks and when not to.
  • Have strong influencing and communication skills, based on credibility and presence, and be confident using these skills.

  • 8+ years of experience in some blend of business development, sales, or marketing
  • Proficiency with contract negotiation and commercial agreements
  • Experience working with or in performing arts organizations
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Experience interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with web applications, particularly ticketing / CRM software
  • A passion for technology and how it can transform businesses and solve problems
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • You should be prepared to work away from home occasionally
  • You should be prepared to travel throughout North America if required
