Position Summary:
- This Manager position will oversee the Anatomic Pathology/Histology department and lead a team of histotechs, cytotechs and Pathologists Assistants.
- In-house operations include specimen grossing, processing and cutting, IHC and special stains, frozen section processing and digital pathology.
- Knowledge of regulatory and billing standards, including technical and professional billing, is required.
- Experience with Pathology Outreach programs is preferred.
- HT(ASCP) preferred.
- Develops, oversees and implements the delivery of existing and future laboratory services while ensuring the highest possible level of quality.
- Manages resources to ensure output of results meets patient needs and economic resources of the hospital.
Essential Functions:
- Management Develops and implements comprehensive test menu to ensure patient and provider needs are met while meeting financial and strategic goals of the institution.
Tasks:
- Assists in planning and maintaining operational budgets.
- Completes detailed variance reports in a timely manner.
- Schedules, interviews, hires, orients and assures competency of staff.
- Completes thorough performance evaluations in a timely manner.
- Monitors productivity in the department to ensure proper utilization of staff.
- Aligns testing and services within department to LBH organizational strategies and goals.
- Identifies future needs in terms of equipment, facilities and staff.
- Submits appropriate justification and support documents for procurement.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline
- Experience: 5-7 years
- MT (ASCP) SBB (ASCP) PA (ASCP)
