- The Child Protection Program was established in 2004 to provide comprehensive medical evaluations for suspected victims of abuse within the greater Philadelphia area.
- Current staff members include two board certified child abuse pediatricians, a dedicated social worker, nurse, and support staff.
- Each year, this program provides hundreds of medical evaluations for suspected cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
- These multidisciplinary evaluations occur in the inpatient setting, outpatient clinics, as well as the city’s regional Child Advocacy Center.
- The team works closely with local investigators to ensure timely communication of the medical findings with each case.
- The program is committed towards educating trainees as well as medical students, residents, and fellows in the region.
- Prospective candidates should have a vested interest in program development and education.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics (Separate Fellowship)
- Board Certified in Pediatrics
- Graduate of an ACGME accredited Pediatric residency
- Graduate of an ACGME accredited Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship
- Unrestricted PA medical license at time of employment
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for Commonwealth of PA
