SALARY: $130,000 to $200,000
- Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager and Section Supervisors, the Lead Clinical Laboratory Scientist is recognized as the technical subject matter expert in all areas of the laboratory services; at the Mission Viejo and/or Laguna Beach hospital campuses.
- The Lead CLS works independently, accepts responsibility for special projects, and participates in quality assurance functions.
- The Lead CLS demonstrates expertise in performing laboratory testing in all areas of the Core Laboratory and/or Microbiology.
- The Lead CLS oversees the day-to-day operation of the Laboratory Sections, and supports leadership with the implementation of new processes and procedures, to help maximize the efficiency and quality of Laboratory operations.
- He/ She may participate in the preparation for CAP inspections and assist with on-site or off-site CAP inspections.
- The Lead CLS provides diagnostic laboratory services for the care of neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science related field, or qualification for CLS licensure.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License California upon hire, OR 5 years of Clinical laboratory experience as a CLS in an acute care hospital setting as a Laboratory Generalist to include Blood Bank.
Preferred Qualification:
- ASCP Certification upon hire.
