OPEN JOB: (REMOTE) Space Force - Sr Advanced Systems Engineer – Secret Clearance
***Position may be done 100% remote, if Secret clearable, and 100% on-site (Scottsdale, Arizona) if TS/SCI clearable.
CLEARANCE: Client will accept candidates with either a SECRET clearance, they can also support a TS/SCI but the TS / SCI would have to be on site, the Secret can be remote.
SALARY: $146,000 to $162,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline.
  • Decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
  • Coordination with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meet system mission needs.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.

  • Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
  • System/Software design for cloud-based microservice architecture
   
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field with 8+ years of job-related experience
  • Or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Agile experience preferred.

PREFERRED TECHNICAL BACKGROUND:
  • Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on:
          - Ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads
          - Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis
  • Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw.
  • Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment.
  • Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
