PLANT: This plant manufactures building insulation – non union – 70 employees – the plant runs 20 hours per day / 4 days per week.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Plant Engineer is needed to manage the multiple projects for the site to continue making improvements. Ideal candidate will have experience managing/leading skilled employees as well as managing capital expenditure projects – will have 1 direct salary report (maintenance supervisor) and 15 maintenance mechanics/electricians
Managing of contractors from a project engineer
$1M Capex project slated for 2026 this person will manage as well as the maintenance of the building/facility/equipment
Managing uptime. Making sure it is where it’s at
Focus on spending – split between investments/discretionary spend or capital
How is the equipment running and up to our expectations.
Managing AC&R
Preferred experience with SAP Plant Maintenance Module, SAP Project Systems Module and SAP Procure to Pay Module
Role Summary
As the Plant Engineer of the Ruston, LA plant, you are accountable for the long‑term reliability, safety, and productivity of the manufacturing facility.
Your impact is measured not by daily tasks but by your ability to strengthen asset performance, optimize capital deployment, improve maintenance culture, and enable the plant to meet or exceed operational goals. You will lead maintenance and engineering strategy, ensuring the facility operates at world‑class standards.
Deliver measurable year‑over‑year improvement in equipment reliability through data‑driven root cause analysis, predictive maintenance, and modernization initiatives.
Establish and maintain reliability programs that reduce unplanned downtime and extend the life of critical assets
Lead Capital Planning to Strengthen the Site’s Future Performance
Own the full capital budgeting cycle, ensuring Capex programs deliver ROI, support long‑term asset strategy, and align with plant growth plans.
Provide monthly capital performance insights and long‑term project justifications to plant and corporate leadership.
Partner with operations to identify performance gaps and implement engineering solutions that enhance throughput, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Lead cross‑functional efforts to deploy CI methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, equipment modernization).
Lead & Develop the Maintenance Organization
Provide direction and leadership to a team of skilled technicians, developing capabilities, accountability, and a high‑performance mindset.
Advance a culture of communication, teamwork, and technical excellence across the maintenance department
