Our client’s Remanufacturing Division is looking for a Senior EHS Manager for their Mississippi facilities in Corinth and Booneville.
This position will provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a large campus.
The position will be responsible for 6 Direct Reports and an overall staff of 60. The role will be responsible for teh EHS (and Security) across 4 sites in the area, all manufacturing sits with engine related production lines.
Responsibilities:
Creates and drives the execution of the safety strategy for the Mississippi campus to achieve the vision.
Provides guidance and EHS leadership to peers, direct reports and the Mississippi employees.
Engages and develops team of hourly and management EHS professionals.
Identifies common and more complex safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.
Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.
Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.
Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with U.S. environmental regulations
Demonstrated success in leading, developing engaging an inclusive team
Degree or equivalent job-related experience (preferably in EHS or related field)
Proven ability to set and implement a strategic vision
Professional certification in a related field is desired
SKILLS NEEDED: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
Determines criteria for assessing vendors which may have potential environmental impact.
Formulates health and safety plans and policies, e.g. a fire safety plan and road safety policy.
Trains employees on HSE policy compliance and measures understanding.
Designs an incident report form and reporting procedures for EHS management.
Collaborates across multiple departments to facilitate EHS management.
Controls pollution and minimizes waste of materials, energy and water within the organization.
Sustainability:
Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model.
Risk Management:
Debates the pros and cons of various risk management models.
Implements function-wide risk management processes and tools.
Designs cross-functional risk management processes, tools, and audit mechanisms.
Measures key benefits and drawbacks for specific risk management practices.
Relates risk assessment models and analysis tools and processes to own business.
