Our clients Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) Division has an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer at their Washington, PA manufacturing plant.
The primary responsibilities of this role are designing, constructing, and maintaining tooling used in our manufacturing process.
This position is also responsible for the supervision and development of our Tool and Die Department.
This role is a key member of our engineering team and promotes a culture of Quality, Continuous Improvement, Lean implementation to drive change.
Building upon previous successes this role will take our Tool and Die team to the next level.
Collaborate with cross function teams and department leaders to support the creation and implementation of manufacturing strategies, which will lead to improvements in employee safety, quality performance, product delivery, and reductions in product/process variation.
In this function you will:
Design and development of stamping tooling including strip layouts, simulations, die construction and press specifications
Develop and construct progressive dies and tools for the production of steel outlet boxes
Implement maintenance and repair programs for production tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevity
Inspect completed parts and compare to die specifications for accuracy and quality, adhering to strict manufacturing standards
Identify and resolve problems to minimize downtime and maintain workflow
Work closely with engineering and Master Die Makers to improve die designs and enhance production efficiency
Maintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications for future reference
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and die performance
Track and report progress of tooling programs from sourcing to a production ready state
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution is required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience designing complex, progressive stamping dies.
