Supports the Molding Business Unit’s primary objectives, with proven ability to identify problems and implement corrective action plans to resolve gaps to achieving goals.
Specific focus will be in molding press repairs and maintenance.
Has knowledge of established safety standards and operator work with equipment.
Required to have awareness of product performance and quality requirements within scope of their assignments.
Assists technical resources with solving and maintenance of molding presses, process efficiency, and press preventive maintenance.
Clear understanding of the role of Diagnostic Technician in a molding environment.
Knowledgeable in injection molding process across mold and press technologies.
Required to develop a firm understanding of all equipment for which they are responsible to include set-up, process/press adjustment, and assessment of root cause and corrective actions.
Takes daily direction from Molding Process Engineer, and Senior Mold Diagnostic Technician
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as required by the Molding Process Engineer and/or Senior Mold Diagnostic Technician.
Directs/assists the efforts of support personnel such as mold setters and technicians, etc. in the modification, adjustment of processes and/or removal and installation of new or existing equipment as required.
May provide technical diagnostic direction to press vendors, controls, and electronic technician resources as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in a molding environment and the following credentials: Molding Processing Certification RJG Essential/Master Molder I or comparable training.
Proven capability to learn and understand complex molding related concepts and principles.
Experience in the following areas required.
Mold press maintenance and solving
Experience with hydraulic and servo-controlled systems
Mold temperature controller programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Material feed system, silo through hopper working knowledge
Able to work rotating 12 shift (day)
Preferred Qualifications:
Training at a Major molding press manufacturer for maintenance and repair.
