Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will have revenue recognition experience. Experienced with ASC 606 or ASC 842, prefer both, but will consider candidates that have strong experience with just one and willing to learn the other.
The Senior Analyst, Revenue Accounting is responsible for the accurate and timely recognition and reporting of instrument sales and placements.
Key duties include managing and coordinating the reconciliation and analysis of customer revenue accounts, interpreting contracts, and providing lease classification guidance to the contracts, finance, marketing, and sales teams. This guidance supports budgeting and forecasting, decision-making during deal negotiations, and final lease classification and revenue allocation post-deal execution.
The role also involves utilizing BOT output files for the revenue recognition software, maintaining revenue recognition files and Stand-Alone Selling Prices, and interacting with external auditors and other internal groups.
Additionally, the Senior Analyst supports the finance and accounting teams with various schedules and analyses, including account reconciliations, serves as a SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT for ASC 606 and ASC 842, and provides training and coaching.
Responsibilities:
Perform revenue recognition for customer contracts in accordance with Uniform Internal/External Agreement on Revenue Recognition Treatments under ASC 606 and ASC 842
Manage workload against deadlines
Co-manage BOT processes and utilize outputs
Be a power user of the revenue recognition software and perform, with little guidance, activities including scheduling, sample selection, procedures surrounding system testing, and upgrades in coordination with the Systems Lead for the revenue recognition software as needed
Interact with Contracts and Marketing teams regularly for the development of revenue recognition analysis, budgeting and forecasting of 606/842 impact, and ad hoc analysis
Complete journal entries as needed to correct or adjust financials
Coordinate and complete analysis of revenue and COGS actual results
Create and Review Account Reconciliations, Stand-Alone Selling Prices, and monthly reporting
Participate in projects, audits, and presentations as needed
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Accounting or related field is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
Highly preferred direct exposure to Revenue Recognition and Lease Accounting Rules and Regulations
Preferred CPA certification and/or MBA
Required Skills:
Advance Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint) skills required
US GAAP literate
Expertise with ASC 606 and ASC 842 required.
Excellent Communication Skills
SAP and Salesforce.com Experience a plus
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and quality
