OPEN JOB: Senior Design Construction Manager (Healthcare and Hospitals) LOCATION: Napa, California SALARY: $145,308 to $233,874 FULL-TIME BENEFITS - FULL
Description Our client, a large Hospital is seeking a Senior Design Construction Manager who will:
Be responsible for the delivery of capital projects in support of key regional and system wide initiatives
Be responsible for leading a project team and ensuring that key deliverables and deadlines are met
Work with complex projects
Be responsible for leading a complex team of third party vendors
Please note the following important details regarding this position:
This role is an in-hospital position and will report into the hospital daily as scheduled
This role requires for you to be located within a commutable distance of the location listed below:
California: Napa
Work Week: Monday - Friday
Work Shift: Day
Weekends: This role will require flexibility to work weekends on occasion as needed defined by manager / departmental needs
This role will require for you to travel onsite throughout a defined region / territory frequently as defined by manager and departmental needs
Essential Functions:
Responsible for providing leadership and management to meet assigned goals for construction projects
Accountable for assisting with the review of the project reports for accuracy and completeness
Lead design and construction manager updates
Ability to effectively communicate technical standards to construction management team
Knowledgeable about applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
Accountable for developing, reviewing, and maintaining project budgets
Responsible for maintaining project as built cost data
Develops and manages RFP's for architectural and general construction services. This may include the review, scoring, participation in interviews, and the recommendation for award
Facilitates design meetings with architectural and end user teams as well as construction (OAC) meetings
Responsible for leading design meetings with architectural and end user teams
Reviews design documents for quality, constructibility, and ensures compliance with standards and local agency requirements
Facilitates the development of infection control procedures with safety and accreditation teams
Monitors compliance of procedures during construction
Reviews and approves architectural add services, construction change orders, invoices and construction pay applications
Responsible for overall preconstruction and construction project milestone schedule
Manages architects and general contractors to ensure top quality work is being performed in a timely manner to ensure good stewardship of financial resources
Accountable for clear communication with project vendors, engineering, information services, clinical engineering, accreditation, safety teams, local jurisdictions, internal project teams and Senior leadership regarding project progress, changes and impacts
Inspects construction progress to ensure conformance to design documents and contractual requirements
Participates in furniture selection meetings, and has oversight for procurement and move in of FF&E
Coordinates internal teams including but not limited to information services, EPIC, clinical engineering, accreditation, safety and physical plant operations as they relate to projects
Accountable for maintaining and property archiving basic administration files relevant to projects
Responsible for final construction project move in and go live
Coordinates moves for internal and external teams as well as the move of employees
Accountable for timely completion by general contractor of the construction punch list
Responsible for compiling external project close out documents for upload into the data management system

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
7+ years of experience in construction management
4+ years of experience in healthcare specific construction management
3+ years of Supervisory experience of both direct reports and/or vendor management to include third party
Proven experience with land use practices and procedures across a diverse geographic portfolio
Extensive experience with ability to analyze and negotiate financial terms for architectural and construction proposals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience
