OPEN JOB: Head of Broker Dealer Compliance (Equity Routing focused)
LOCATION: Remote with occasional onsite office in Jersey City
TYPE: Full Time Salaried

JOB SUMMARY
  • Our customer, a FINRA member and SEC registered broker dealer, which is primarily an equity routing broker, seeking a Head of Compliance for its Broker Dealer operation. 
  • The Head of Compliance will be responsible for the implementation of the Broker/Dealer’s compliance system, including but not limited to overseeing is market access controls, exception reporting program, engaging with regulators on exams, inquiries, organizing the analysis of the firm’s compliance risk, identifying risks and developing preventive measures. 
  • THIS ROLE will be focused on EQUITY ROUTING and TRADING (IT IS NOT A CAMS role).
  • They want someone with strong MARKET ACCESS CONTROLS, i.e experience with RULE 15c3-5
  • Someone that knows CREDIT LIMITS and PRICE BANDS
  • MUST HAVE the SERIES 24
  • This officer establishes and implements strategies that have short to long-term impact on business results and optimizes the organization, function, or sub-function and the talent required to execute strategies. 
  • Reports directly into the President of the broker-dealer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the President, and other senior colleagues to develop and implement the compliance program within the registered Broker/Dealer business unit.
  • Ongoing Review and enhancement of the firm’s market access program
  • Perform risk assessments, monitoring and surveillance activities, and project management to ensure that the compliance program remains current and aligned with the compliance program.
  • The role works closely with the business and other internal partners to meet regulatory and corporate obligations.
  • Review and maintain WSPs.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring strategies to ensure appropriate compliance oversight and control.
  • Assist with communications with regulatory bodies including preparation of regulatory filings.
  • Co-lead with team on regulatory exams, inquiries and new initiatives.
  • Work with operations staff to Identify observations of trends and recommendations to optimize data.
  • Execute appropriate testing and analyze key performance indicators to confirm requirements of the business policies and programs are maintained at a level commensurate with regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare complete, accurate documentation of compliance monitoring and surveillance activities.
  • Report findings to the teams and provide timely follow-up on outstanding issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of U.S. securities laws, particularly the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and other SEC & FINRA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 7+ years’ experience in a compliance role with a broker-dealer with particular knowledge of equity markets, 15c3-5 market access controls, and AML regulations.
  • FINRA Licenses: 7, 63 and 24
  • THIS ROLE will be focused on EQUITY ROUTING and TRADING (IT IS NOT A CAMS role). Candidate must have strong experience in Equity Routing
  • They want someone with strong MARKET ACCESS CONTROLS, i.e experience with RULE 15c3-5
  • Should know CREDIT LIMITS and PRICE BANDS
  • MUST HAVE the SERIES 24
