Sr Project Manager – IT Infrastructure

TITLE: Sr Project Manager – IT Infrastructure
Location: Boston
Compensation – USD 100,000 to $105,000 + 17% bonus
 
  • Responsible for strategic management of IT Infrastructure projects, spanning Front Room (Turret/Trading Floor) and/or Back Room (Server/Data Center) installations.
  • Ensure projects are highly coordinated, that communication is robust / highly structured and that the team delivers success in the eyes of the Customer.
  • Coordinate and manage other assigned Project Managers and ensure plans, schedules, and technical implementation details are monitored and organized.
  • Ensure all PMO policies/procedures are being adhered to.
  • Communicate with Senior Managers
  • Must be willing to travel as required (domestic and international) to attend customer meetings, attend cutovers, and perform other duties that are required to deliver success.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Delivering all projects in a manner that meets the financial objectives and drives exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure PMs manage all tactical aspects of the projects, ensure the global team is well coordinated / communicating effectively,
  • Ensuring management is updated to all key aspects of the project.
  • Providing oversight of the cost, price and billing. Proactively identifying - managing variances, implementing correction programs, managing revenue recognition / customer acceptance and ensuring that billing milestones are met.
  • Chairing internal and external project/program steering committee. This includes managing a scheduled customer facing status meeting and managing an internal cross functional status meeting.
  • Ensure that all PMO processes and guidelines are followed. Utilization of specific PM Tools and adherence to reporting and PMO processes. Recommending process changes that conform to industry best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of the current status of specific projects assigned. -  product status, special deliverables (product, oem, etc), customer environment readiness and third-party interdependencies.
  • Oversight of the allocated project teams.
  • Act as customer liaison regarding planned and actual work; ensuring that the customer is aware of requirements, dependencies, delivery dates, installation dates, and other activities documented in the project plans.
  • Ensure the timely collection of accurate customer provided Network/System information for accuracy and completeness. Address deficiencies and/or discrepancies.
  • Clear and concise reporting,
  • Attend all necessary training courses
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings (internal as well as client) related to the collection of data, the status of project activities, and dissemination of RAID reporting.
  • Manage the escalation of issues to appropriate personnel, as necessary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
  • Must possess strong communication, project, and people management skills, an ability to work in a high pressure and dynamic environment and be available for periodic work on weekends and holidays.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience related to Project Management of IT Infrastructure initiatives is required.
  • Experience in the Telecommunication Industry is a significant plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Products, specifically Excel, is considered a plus. A college degree and/or PMP is preferred.
